Key benefits of the raw food diet?

Someone once asked me what benefits did I recieve when I began the raw diet. I outline them in top line here. Keep in mind, I still celebrate these benefits. Even though I am no longer 100% raw 100% of the time, I maintain a high portion of my diet in a raw state, and the following health concerns are now longer an issue for me! 

With raw foods I overcame:

  • sugar addiction
  • acne
  • PCOS symtoms
  • Brutal PMS
  • chronic anxiety
  • Candida
  • food allergies & intolerance
  • bug bite reactions!
  • overweight
  • chronic constipation
  • IBS

To be clear, I chalk up my healing to a cleansing lifestyle which included raw & living foods, probiotic supplementation, sunshine, clean air, stress reduction techniques, and a genuine desire to get well!

Overall, it is about healing the entire constitution. (Restoring my body’s ecology, and balancing my metabolic & hormonal balance.)

I still have the occasional reminder of PCOS & IBS, especially when I sneak in the wrong foods… I know better, but then no one is perfect. Perhaps someday these symptoms will be gone forever, or more importantly, that the fear that they will return will be dropped from my consciousness.  I would love to eradicate some nervous habits & my obsessive perspective on certain health issues.  While symptoms dissipate over time, the fear of illness and familial disposition runs  deep, and is a whole other story.  THAT is what I hope that long term comes to me. Piece of mind I suppose. But that goes even deeper than raw…
