day 1 of 30 Day Raw Food challenge

day 1
Hey folks. I have just past the 1.5 year mark since I first began my raw food journey. (April 2003) I have been as high as 100% for the first 6 months, to as low as 50% for the middle to back to about 80-100% on most days now. (That is based on the calorie rather than gram count.)
I find that although I CAN do all raw for much of my diet, I thrive best with a bit of steamed veggies, twice baked bread and the odd cooked tuber. (I love yams) As a nutritionist, I know all raw is a great healing and cleansing program, and that is something that I, like everyone needs at times. And it is about that time again for me…
Since I went raw I dedicated myself to learning more about nutrition and health. Having worked in the Natural Foods Industry since 1997, I have always been open to new thoughts. Last spring I completed my NC course, and I currently work as a Digestive Care Educator and manager for a well known supplement company here in Sunny Florida…(I won’t mention names, but if you email and ask I will tell you.)
I am joining Alissa’s RawFoodTalk 30 day challange for a seasonal cleansing challange. It is time, I know others are feeling it, and I am ready to cleanse out the wheat & dairy from my veins! I am thrilled to do this in good company!
My greatest weakness is wheat, and aside from that I typically eat all raw. I am not vegan, I stand by other well known health gurus such as Bragg or Walker and eat the occasional dairy or egg. I will post my indiscretions here, so be kind…
Regards,
Cassy

Here’s a link to day one of my first Raw Food Journal. (I’d been eating this way for over a year when I started writing) If you’re looking for inspiration, I’d also recommend rawfoods.com and shazzie.com, with rawfoods.com being my favorite.
