Day 4

Day four of fast dawned early, which is good because I wanted to wake up and enjoy sunshine today.

I’m still feeling a bit tired and, ’sigh,’ I do feel some detox.

Today I plan on breaking the fast later in the day, with the Paul Bragg suggestion of a fresh cabbage salad. I made up the mix and put it in the fridge to marinate.

Hope it’s not TMI to share, but belly is regular despite the fast. That always makes me think twice. Not so much the regularity, but the fact that things are being eliminated almost 100 hours since I last ate anything solid! Regardless, glad they are on their way.

This morning I will have more juices, and will continue to rest and relax until my energy returns in the evening, when I plan to go for a short walk and do more stretching to bring the air back into my lungs. Resting and relaxing for 4 days went a long way to kicking out the virus, but I’m always groggy after such a period of time. Definately missing my jogging!

Did I reach my goals?

Tonsil is still ‘there’ but no where near where it was on wednesday. I think that the virus was a big part of this. I do think there is tremendous improvement, so that is great.

Mental clarity? It’s there. I feel more focused, and I’ve been able to make the personal decisions I needed to make, so I’d say goal was reached.

Chocolate? It’s out of my system. I’ve decided that I must drop this habit. Sure the type I like is dairy free and extra dark, but I still recognise it is a stimulant, so I will leave it off except for special occasions. (Last week I’d been eating a piece or ‘few’ everyday due to PMS.

So I feel like this has been sucessful. I am looking forward to ending the fast with fresh foods which will energize my body, and rejuvenate my cellular structure. As in the Ayurvedic tradition “Pancha Karma” a seasonal cleansing and rejuvenation program should be natural part of my lifestyle. This means both detoxification support as well as nutrient rich foods and tonics to rebuild my body. All the reading I did in Bragg’s books makes me want to take an Apple Cider Vinegar tonic everyday. Considering the benefits vinegar has on blood sugar, and that so many are using it for PCOS, I am without excuse!

Thanks everyone for supporting me through this fast, and I’ll talk to you all on the flip side!
