(Night Before) Day 1
My goals for this fast:
- First…Help heal the sore spot on my toncil which popped up after the dentist accidently let the suction tube catch the soft tissue during my filling the other day….
- Second…Clear my mind so I can focus on a personal project I am working on…
- Third…mitigate the chocolate cravings I am feeling since my period came on earlier in the week.
I will fast on fresh fruit juices, vegetable juices and when needed lemon or limeade made in the vein of the Master Cleanse. (lime juice, grade b maple syrup and cayenne pepper.) I will also continue with my fish oil product (to nourish my bowels) and my probiotics as my IBS depends on this. I will leave off all other supplements and vitamins.
I mentioned earlier that there is an awesome book by Paul Bragg called the Miracle of Fasting. You can read about it here http://www.bragg.com/books/mof_excerpt.html I totally recommend his books if you are new to this lifestyle. Paul Bragg encouraged what is known as “The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle” which was balanced, and is very attractive to me. He died in his 90s in a freak surfboard accident, and many feel he would have lived into the hundreds, had that not happened. (You may be familiar with Bragg Aminos and Apple Cider Vinegar.)
Bragg suggests short fasts frequently, and longer fasts seasonally.
