Mon Jan 31, 2005 10:00pm Day 35

Day 35
Monday, Monday.
Today I had a smoothie for breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, I know, doesn’t sound too exciting or different such that I should sound the trumpets. But, knowing my history…lol…and my butter fingers, you will understand my apprehension surrounding doing so. I made it, drank it, and despite my fears, did not spill a drop. I did however, insist on drinking it all before I got out of the car and entered the building at work, however! Smile Tasted good. I used bananas and berries, and a bit of water and some green food supplement. Yum. Mustn’t forget how much I love that breakfast.

Today went pretty well overall. Last day of the month, so of course we were nutso at work. I think all companies get like that, as the energy builds to a furver to complete sales. Glad of course that I no longer work as a salesperson…Ended the month strong, so that was nice. Oh- my good snacking habits are rubbing off. My coworkers are no longer snatching my carrots off the desk, and are bringing their own! Today I was offered baby bunny loves and an organic apple!

After the smoothie, I had carrots and an orange for snack, a large field greens salad with avocado and vinegar dressing, and more carrots and orange for snack. FOr dinner I slathered the last piece of my raw rye bread with avocado and tomato…Heavenly. Did I mention that the avocados are divine at this time of year? So sweet and creamy. (Florida type.) I just love them.

I was off a few minutes early, and managed to uncook up a storm when I got in before supper. I was happy I was feeling much better this evening. I made up a batch of the onion bread, and then did some creative stuff.. I took 2 cups of sprouted wheat, a cup of almonds a tiny bit of onion, some nutritional yeast and water and celtic salt and blended it within an inch of its life. I made this into loaves, and threw that in the dehydrator too. Then, I decided, ok. I have this big eggplant, and if I don’t do some thing with it, well, it was gonna go bad. SOOOOOO….I peeled it, sliced it, doused it with olive oil based marinade, and popped it in the dehydrator too. My house smells just lovely now. Between the scent of the onion and the olive oil, you’d think I was making eggplant parm…

Why did I do all of this? Wellll…..T says he wants to try doing mostly raw with me for the next few months! I am thrilled! I will have to have all this food around to make sure he has things he likes. For supper he made an olive oil mix with spices and poured it over a piece of the rye bread with avocado and tomatoes. Said he liked it a lot. Guess I have rubbed off on him for the better. KInda nice!

Well, I must head down to the kichen and check that bread…

Cassy.:)

ps. I forgot to add that I noticed my clothes are fitting me a bit better these days. I had been in 2s & 4s when I veered off of 100% raw, and for the past 6 months I was more comfy in 6s. Now, I put on some of the clothes I bought back around Thanksgiving, and they are falling off me. I had spent a good deal of money on some nice “work” pants (hint-conservative) and now they look kinda awful. Well, its not really that I care how they look, but in a way it is sad since I they were supposed to be things I would wear for years. (I got the slacks at Brooks Brothers, a hint my sis taught me.) They are stretchy wool flat front pants, timeless…Well, I suppose I could have them altered. I will wait and see how my body reacts. At worst I could give them to my sis. She isn’t really thicker than me, but she is taller so they might fall nicer on her. (I have no rear end, no matter how heavy I get, so that makes it worse when I wear droopy clothes.)

The other thing I noticed is that my belly looks emptier. I hope all the cleansing is working!

The link between heavy metal toxcity, and weight gain…

I have heard of this before, but thought the attached comic really spoke for the root of the cause… It sure is a double edged sword to have the mercury removed…It brings better future health, but it can cause upset in the short term. It is great to eat high raw, because it wil provide lots of fiber to absorb the metals and toxins in your system.

Many people are unaware, that the biggest problem with mercury fillings, is that every time you chew, or grind your teeth, you release mercury vapors, which you then inhale. Having them removed causes large amounts of vapor, which is why it is so important ot have a qualified biological dentist who knows the precautions to take. Also, a great product to take while undergoing the process is an oral chelator.

Taking a product which binds to heavy metals is not enough…You want to take antioxidants to neutralize the free radicals caused in the liver as it processes the toxins, as well as herbs such as cilanto and chlorella, which contain high levels of sulfer, which will bind up mercury, and pull it out of the body. Dark green veggies are also high in sulfur. Sodium alginate, a source of fiber is also a good one for the same reason. Like I said, eating raw is a fantastic way to provide your body the tools to deal with the situation.

To quote the article in thethe latest issue of Essential Cleansing magazine, it can only help, and never hinder when toxic metals are removed…just go slow and at your own pace. Doing it in stages, is always best. In terms of the antioxidants, you get those from brightly colored fruits and veggies, no need to take supplement pills! (unless you want) That is why I love raw, we get a rainbow of nutrients in our diet!

Good luck!

PS. I think that the reason people have a hard time losing when they have heavy metals is that they have a chronically depressed immune system. That is why candida infections are often the result of heavy metals. Such toxcity causes microscopic holes in the bowel, (called leaky gut.) Heavy metals also interupt our mineral balance, which can totally affect appetite and metabolism. Indeed, it affects our system at every level… But I do think the joke about the magnets was funny…

links between blood sugar about PCOS, cysts, cervix

I did a quick search on PCOS to see if I could find some links about the link between blood sugar & PCOS. Many people, such as myself thought it was an ovary issue only. I also looked for links that spoke of success using the raw diet. I found the following:
http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/b…ugar-news6.html
(discusses the reasons to not compartmentalize PCOS as an ovarian issue.)

http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/PCOS-success.html
(Has a list of several success stories, and several mention the idea of detoxification.)

http://www.whatreallyworks.co.uk/st…?article_ID=219
(This article reference Karen K of the UK’s raw Fresh Network & her precancerous cervix.)

Anyway, I hope this will stimulate conversation!

Cassy.
